Solid dot — location reported by the source: an epicentre, a fire pixel, or an aircraft's own transponder position.
Hollow ring — approximated: an NWS alert polygon centroid, a sampled air-traffic hub volume, or the centroid of a ransomware victim's country. None of these is the position of an incident, an aircraft or an attacker.
Business jets are a fixed list of aircraft types, not proof of private ownership or who is on board. Military aircraft are only those broadcasting publicly. Internet outages are country-level and not plotted. Attack sources are the registered country of an IP's network; the real operator may be elsewhere (VPNs, rented servers, hijacked machines).
